History

Faith Independent Baptist Church in Enterprise, Alabama was founded in 1993 by Pastor David Harvey. In 1999, its current pastor, Paul Alexander, was called to serve.

The church outgrew three former leased locations until our current building was purchased and completely renovated in 2013. A classroom module, a fellowship building and a mission house have been added to the property as we continue working to meet the spiritual needs of Enterprise, Fort Novosel, and our world.

Faith has never been located more than a mile from the Fort Novosel/Enterprise Gate. The U.S. Army affords us a unique opportunity to reach, train and send an "army for Christ" around the word at the government’s expense. We are delighted to have dozens of former members who were saved and discipled here, and are faithfully serving in various ministries across the U.S. and in many foreign countries.

Missions

Missions

Local and foreign “Missions” are an important part of our church life. Faith supports church planting and evangelism ministries on every inhabited continent with special times of prayer and a third of our annual offerings. Every missionary we support becomes a part of our church family. We cannot list their names here, as some are in sensitive regions, but we’d love for you to come and get to know and pray for each of them.

Warm smiles at the door.

What to Expect

Faith Independent Baptist Church is known for its “southern hospitality.” You will be greeted with a smile and provided with information and directions to classrooms, nursery, etc. as needed. Our 9:45 AM Sunday school hour offers age-appropriate Bible study classes from preschool through adults, with a nursery for the infants.

Everyone gathers in the auditorium for 11 AM Sunday morning worship, with the exception of infant and preschool classes. We feel the children benefit greatly by participating in the singing portions of the service. Kindergarten - 4th graders are dismissed at the preaching time for their own “church service” on their age level.

Our services are distinctively traditional yet refreshingly vibrant. You will discover enthusiastic, congregational singing of the familiar hymns and gospel songs you may have grown up hearing, with an occasional newer song mixed in. You won’t hear politics or opinions, just the clear, expository, systematic teaching and application of God’s Word for our everyday lives. We are not opposed to “new,” but we have not discarded the old either. The King James Bible is our textbook for congregational reading, preaching and teaching. For further explanations of why we choose this style of worship and the KJV Bible, and many other relevant topics, visit the “Pastor, Why…? series”

Handicap Accessible

When we renovated our "new" church in Enterprise, Jimmy Storm, a quadriplegic, was one of our faithful members and Bible teachers. Through his friendship, a special burden for the disabled was born—and built—into our facilities. We are ADA accessible, and love to assist in any way we can. Jimmy is with the Lord today following an automobile accident in 2017, but you can read his amazing account here.
