Is Hell Real?
Here’s what the Bible says Hell is...
1. A place
of “fire, brimstone and a horrible tempest’ (Psalm 11:6: Revelation 14:10)
2.
A place of “sorrows” (Psalm 18:5)
3.
“A devouring fire and everlasting burning” (Isaiah 33:14; Mark 9:48)
4.
A place of outer darkness (Matthew 8:12)
5.
A place of “weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew
8:12; 13:42, 50)
6.
A place without hope where one can never repent (Matthew 12:32)
7.
“A furnace of fire” (Matthew 13:42)
8.
A lake of fire into which people are cast alive (Matt. 13:42; Luke
16:24; Revelation 19:20; 20:15)
9.
A place of “everlasting punishment” (Matt. 25:46)
10.
A place prepared for the devil and his angels (Matt. 25:41)
11.
A place where the worm never dies (Mark 9:48)
12.
A place of conscious “torments” (Luke 16:23)
13.
A place where people beg for relief (Luke 16:24)
14.
A place where they do not want loved ones to come (Luke 16:28)
15.
A prison (II Peter 2:4)
16.
A place of eternal black darkness (Jude 13)
17.
A place where they “drink of the wrath of God” (Rev. 14:10)
18.
A place from which “the smoke of their torment ascends up forever
and ever” (Rev. 14:11)
19.
A place where there is “no rest day nor night” (Rev. 14:11)
20.
A place for “the unbelieving, abominable, murderers, whoremongers,
sorcerers, idolaters and all liars” (Rev. 21:8; 22:15)
According to Jesus, Hell (and Heaven) are real places inhabited by
real people. No one has to go to hell. One chooses hell when he
rejects Jesus’ free gift of deliverance graciously paid for with His
own blood.
